Transportation Forum Today at 6:30 pm

ACTIA The public is invited to hear about and discuss transportation project details, schedules, and contracting opportunities at a South County (Fremont, Newark, and Union City) Transportation Forum today.  The ACTIA (Alameda County Transportation Improvement Authority) in conjunction with its Citizens Advisory committee and partnering agencies, will host the forum which features presentations on major transportation projects and programs that will be implemented within the next five years.

The Forum will feature the following presentations:

  • Cultivate Safe Routes for Walking and Biking
  • Expand Strategic Investments for Mobility includes I-680 and I-880 projects
  • Grow Regional Transit Access includes Union City Intermodal station, Dumbarton Rail, and BART extension

There is an Open House at 6:30 pm and the formal presentations is scheduled at 7 pm at the Ruggieri Center, 33997 Alvarado-Niles Road, Union City.  These projects and programs are funded through Measure B, Alameda County’s Half-cent transportation sales tax.

If you are curious about any issues  regarding transportation in the tricitites area this is a good opportunity to learn what will happen in the next few years.
