Library Update Presented to City Council

The library manager recently presented an update on growing usage of the Library by the Union City community. Library visits, circulation, program attendance, librarian assisted research, and volunteering have all increased dramatically over the past dozen years. The presentation also described background and details about a new feature added to the Library for young children and parents.   Union City Library has joined the national family of  “Family Place Libraries “through an LSTA grant which was part of a state-wide initiative of the California State Library. The State Library administers the LSTA federal funds to public libraries throughout California.  To view the presentation go to the City website at and click on the City Meetings and Videos Online icon.
