The Alameda County Library Website is changing and getting better all the time! If you use the website, you are probably familiar with the Kids link on the web page. But some of the new resources can be found some place else.
Here is the direct link to our new Children’s Place! You can find book and reading lists, databases, and internet links to all kinds of things. Need homework help, Mission information, suggestions for mysteries, fantasy and science fiction? Want to know what’s new? Check it out!
Reading Rocks! is one of the links on Children’s Place. Here are reading lists by grade and subject, book discussion groups, books awards like Newbery and Caldecott, book suggestions sites like Guys Read and Read Kiddo Read! There are websites for young writers, and you can even listen to stories.
Of course, you can always follow the links above. But if you are on the website and don’t have the links handy, here is how to find Children’s Place:
On the Library website, hold your cursor over RESEARCH [on the blue bar at the top] and click on RESEARCH/SUBJECT GUIDES. On the left, under BROWSE BY SUBJECT, click on CHILDREN, then Children’s Place or Reading Rocks. You can also get to Reading Rocks from the Children’s Place [on the right side under Guides for Kids].
