Tuesday September 25th @ 1:30 p.m.
Author Fred Setterberg will discuss his book,
Lunch Bucket Paradise,
a true-life novel about growing up in blue-collar suburbia in the 1950s and 1960s.
His humorous, dramatic and often moving accounts of the postwar American Dream
in the East Bay will send you laughing out loud and recalling events of your own past.
“Here are the postwar dreams of a working-class California suburb,
and the struggles – comic, tragic and triumphant – of those who came of age
in that time and place. With wit, tenderness, and masterful storytelling,
Fred Setterberg evokes that time when cake mixes, washer-drier combos
and a patch of lawn could inspire hope of better things to come.”
