Creative Writing Workshop for Pre-Teens with Sarah Hines-Stephens
The workshops will be in 3 Saturday sessions:
- November 16th from 1-2:30pm.
- November 23rd from 1-2:30pm
- December 7th from 11am-12:30pm.
Sarah Hines Stephens has been writing books for more than 15 years and reading them for as long as she can remember. Her books have covered everything from Jedis to princesses. Her most recent series, A Dog and his Girl Mysteries, is about a 7th grade detective and her K-9 companion, Dodge.
Sarah will lead the students in a fun writing game called The Exquisite Corpse, in which one child begins a story and the other children add to it. This is a great way to let a child’s imagination run wild while teaching about voice, character, organization and word choice.
Attendance for all three programs is required.
Come in to the Library or call 510-745-1464 ext. 5 any time the Library is open, starting November 1, to register. The Union City Library is located at 34007 Alvarado-Niles Road, Union City, across the street from Logan High School and in the same complex as City Hall and the Police Station.
